CONSUMERISM: Domestic, exotic or just plain baffling…
Is there anything that you have to buy or acquire in the next few days?
TV: You’re bang to rights on this one…
Do you have a favourite TV detective or ‘cop show’? If so, name names.
IDEAS: I usually wash the pots with radio discussions burbling behind me.
What was the subject matter of a really interesting, recent discussion that you heard, but that you did not take part in?
Bidding you a week of waltz, with minimal schmaltz (I didn't know that).

BUY: I have been promising myself a new Ipod for some months now. 80GBs so I shouldnt tire of things too quickly...
TV: The Wire, The Wire, The Wire, and I was saying that before The Guardian was telling everyone too. Only by about 3 weeks though, admittedly... For times when I am more adrenaline minded, The Shield. I also miss Homocide: Life On The Street. British Cop shows rarely grab me; I love Cracker, but it's arguable how much of a cop show it is...
IDEAS: No-one has captured my imagination lately...
Hmmm. No, I might have to buy a car in the next few weeks (ours is going back on Monday) but nothing else on the horizon.
I always liked "Colombo" when I was growing up (as did everyone, I think). I also have a soft spot for daft Van Dyke-tastic drama Diagnosis Murder.
I know, I know.
SHOPPING -
No, apart from food shopping.
DETECTIVE -
Morse, and Cagney and Lacey. Also used to like The Chinese Detective, starring David Yip - anyone remember that one? Oh, and I LOVED Pie In The Sky.
IDEAS -
Anything surreal discussed by cult comic couple Sowerby and Luff on their podcast on Chorley FM (www.chorley.fm), (advt.)
huw - You have been added to the list of clever people who have recommended The Wire. girlonatrain has also been advocating for quite a while.
lb - I think that the formula for Columbo was actually very clever, and bizarre for being unique / not followed... From 'whodunnit' to 'weknowwhodunnitbuthowwillheworkoutwhodunnit'.
john - Morse: Absolutely. And Cagney and Lacey: Fantastic - Tyne Daly did / does 'put upon' like no other. And I must add: That advert was crude. But for what it'll be worth, you can have it.
