Tell: Place/Food Combination

Tell us about your favourite food-place combination. So this may not involve your actual favourite food, or your very favourite place - but the optimum combination of the two. Maybe it's ice-cream on the beach as a potent association of childhood holidays... perhaps it was a never-to-be-repeated sharing of salty chips with a tipsy lover in a shop doorway while rain pelted down... or a pre-packed Danish on a train, neither of which you like much but somehow the combination of inferior pastry with the rhythm of wheels on track enables you to transcend the moment... you tell us.

From your cues:-

There is something that I find quite calming in sipping earl grey whilst travelling by very fast train.

And, eating fish and chips and mushy peas in the Mevagissey rain was unutterably pleasureable...

...as was the open tea room (hot chocolate and flapjack) half way up Snowdon when we climbed it in the torrential rain a year or two ago.

And I used to have a thing about fig rolls in bed on a Friday night, whilst watching Newsnight Review, but I'm not that decadent any more.

I could go on, but I'll not.

Strong Cheddar and salt and vinegar crisps whilst watching late night TV.

Microwaved Chinese takeaway, bought in too vast quantities the night before having drunk too much beer, but now really hitting the spot during a mild hangover.
