Going to Greece on a family holiday in 1976, and coming back white-skinned because the weather had been terrible, while all my wee mates who had been to e.g. Torquay were brown as berries from the heatwave here. Not a great experience at the time but the memory makes me giggle.

I bought a really cool Espana 82 pencil case filled with protractors and pencils and rubbers when in Alcudia on holiday in 1982....

(hotel was rubbish, though)

So I am at my grandmother's house on the Fourth of July (Firecracker Day), and I am blasting firecrackers. One didn't go off so I picked it up in my right hand to see what was what. THEN is went off. After getting it dressed with something or other, I went back out to shoot off some more firecrackers. Again one wouldn't go off, so I picked it up with my LEFT hand and.....you know the rest. Was difficult to eat that evening.
