Experience: Fancy dress

This is the day when we get to find out things about you that nobody else knows. So tell us all about the fancy dress costume that made you proud. Was it one you wore yourself? Or one you made for someone else? Was it worn at a party, or a carnival, or an S&M dungeon? We want details! Spill beans!

I once hosted a Good Vs Evil party, dressed as Harold Shipman*. It was a very simple costume - smartish shirt, fake beard, over-sized glasses and a stethoscope - but 80% of the guests seemed to immediately recognise him. Oddly, most seemed delighted to see him.

Until you brought it up, I had forgotten all about the jacket I wore to our Senior (High School) Ball. It had no collar. It was striped, vertically, in red, brown and yellow. I was a most attractive dude; just ask the dudesses who were there. I did not, however, score.

Huw, that is a good one.
Oldhorsetailsnake, as scientists would say, that was 'bad luck'.
Of my rare dressing up appearances, my favourite saw my longish hair (as was) knotted in many small 'tight buns', whilst I sported a real beard (as was), and wore a neat fitted dress from my partner's (as was) collection. Amusing to me (at least), I announced to the world that I was 'Bjork with a beard' - despite the fact that we were meant to be dressed as cartoon characters. This all seemed acceptable until someone called across the room, 'Brilliant - Kenny Everett!' I wished I'd thought of that.
